KANAWHA VALLEY BUILDERS ASSOCIATION (K.V.B.A.) |
The
Kanawha Valley Builders Association is a multi-employer
contractors' trade association consisting of member firms
engaged in construction and related industries. Formally
organized in 1939, the organization grew out of a conviction
among a group of astute, farsighted contractors that
industry objectives can only be obtained by teamwork and
cooperation - by ASSOCIATION.
The accomplishments of
the Association are many; however, the fact that in 1973,
the K.V.B.A. negotiated the first multi-craft agreement with
standard contract language clauses ever negotiated in the
valley involving 14 trades, best exemplifies the total
effectiveness of the organization.
Subsequent
consecutive Charleston area multi-craft and market recovery
agreements have been successfully negotiated prior to
expiration dates in 1974, 1976, 1979, 1983, 1986, 1988,
1990, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000 and 2005 culminating in a 27
year continuous multi-craft labor-management program
unparalleled anywhere in the country. Thus, the Kanawha
Valley Builders Association is currently rated by many
observers as one of the most effective and influential
contractor associations in the country.
Dedicated to
the advancement of the construction industry and the
protection of its members and general public, the Kanawha
Valley Builders Association provides a common meeting ground
for all those engaged in construction and related
industries. |
